Invest In The Future With Food Forests

The Education Fund is responding to a crisis in our public schools. Poverty and lack of nutrition education is leading our children into obesity. One in 5 children in Florida are obese. Miami-Dade is worse and the future is bleak.

The Education Fund's Food Forest plan works! Our program has already been named the #1 Obesity Prevention Program by leading researchers due to our documented success in improving students’ and families’ eating habits. Amazingly, children’s experiences of simply “being in the Food Forest” is the answer to this crisis. You can see for yourself in the video below.

In our pilot year of the Food Forests, we sent home more than 30,000 food bags and put 1,000 harvests into school cafeterias. Now we need help to expand this work to benefit many more children and their families.

With your help, we can build more food forests and reach thousands of students and their families across Miami-Dade County Public Schools, which is the fourth largest in the U.S. Right now, 16 schools have food forests, and 35 are on the waitlist.

Food Forests is one of the most effective ways to save the health and well-being of our youngsters. Help us solve this critical issue. Contact us by filling out the form on this page and see how you can help us invest in the future.
