Teach-A-Thon

Application for Business Professionals

I want to participate in The Education Fund's Teach-A-Thon:

I will help The Education Fund champion the teaching profession.

I will recruit a partner and we will work with the teacher assigned to us, learning what it takes to be an effective teacher.

I understand that we each only need to commit approximately two hours per month, from mid-August through mid-November.

During our two hours per month, my partner and I commit to enjoying two fun networking / training events (we can choose ones offered during the day or after work); two parties (a kick-off event and a celebration event); and periodic telephone correspondences with our teacher.

My partner and I will gladly spend approximately two hours on the day of the Teach-A-Thon teaching in our teacher's classroom (with our teacher acting as our aide).

We will both raise money from friends, co-workers and family based on how many minutes we can "survive in the classroom." Funds raised go into programs to support teachers.

On behalf of myself or the organization I represent, I/we agree to participate in The Education Fund's Teach-A-Thon. In doing so, I agree to teach a class by myself or to assemble at least one team of two people, who will commit to the following:*

- The business professional will help The Education Fund champion the teaching profession.
- The business professional or their team will work with the teacher assigned, learning what it takes to be an effective teacher.
- The business professional or team understands that each person only needs to commit approximately two hours per month, from mid-October through December.
- During the two hours per month, the business professional or team commits to two fun networking/training events(a kick-off event and a celebration event), and periodic calls/emails with the assigned teacher.
- The business professional or team will spend one to two hours on the day of the Teach-A-Thon teaching in the classroom (with our teacher acting as an aid).
- The business professional or team will raise money from friends, co-workers, and family based on how many minutes they can "survive in the classroom."
- Funds raised will benefit all teachers through The Education Fund (50%) and participating teachers' classrooms (50%).
