With a little creativity and effort, you and your students can use your artwork to raise hundreds, even thousands, of dollars for your classroom!

How? Submit artwork to be sold at The Education Fund's 2010 Art of Found Objects Charity Auction. A separate event from the "Art of Found Objects" Exhibition, artwork you submit for the auction does NOT have to contain materials from The Education Fund's Ocean Bank Center for Educational Materials (OBCEM).

Why? Last year, one art teacher earned $1,840, another $1,835, and a third $1,425. There were also plenty of teachers who earned HUNDREDS of dollars. This year, it could be YOU!

Rules:

  1. Any MDCPS art teacher or student may submit artwork. Student artwork must be submitted through the art teacher.
  2. The artwork will be juried. A committee of art professionals will jury all submitted artwork, according to standard criteria. In the case of student art, consideration will be given for the grade level.
  3. Deadline for submission: April 09, 2010.
  4. Size limits: Flat pieces (2-D) up to 3' x 5' and 3-D pieces up to 6'x4'x4'.
  5. Artwork can be entered as an individual piece or group piece - all MDCPS levels can enter.
  6. Identification label (attached) must be securely attached to the back of the art piece.
  7. A completed description sheet (attached) must be included for each art piece inside the portfolio (for 2-D) or the box (for 3-D).
  8. Portfolios and boxes are to be addressed to "OBCEM Art Auction".
  9. All pieces must be properly packaged to avoid damage. (The Education Fund is not responsible for damage to artwork).
  10. Every piece must indicate (on the identification label and description sheet) that it is to be sold at the Auction. When donating student pieces, it is recommended that you discuss the donation with the student and the parent (or responsible adult).
