A key component of the SUPI program experience is the action research project. Participants are introduced to this data-driven research methodology and then coached throughout the year in the application of the action research model within their respective schools. The goal is to engage team members in a deeper understanding of school improvement through an action research project correlated to the objectives embedded within the School Improvement Plans.
Team members actively participate in professional learning sessions throughout the year, formulating research questions, developing and implementing instructional intervention plans, and collecting and analyzing data for the purposes of improving student academic achievement, as well as creating a culture of inquiry within their schools.
A more complete description of the Action Research component of SUPI can be found by clicking on the link Publication -Inception, Strategy & Implementation, to the right, and scrolling to pages two and three.
More comprehensive write-ups of the action research projects from the 2005-2006 team's participation in SUPI will be available soon in an Action Research stand-alone publication. Please check this site starting in June.
