The Education Fund's Food Forests for Schools Initiative is now in 51 Miami-Dade County Elementary Schools
The schools participating in The Education Fund's Food Forests for Schools Initiative fall into two categories: 1) traditional raised bed gardens, and 2) food forests. The schools that have been transformed into food forests are designated by an asterisk (*) and with a number (1, 2 or 3) that shows whether the school was transformed in phase 1, 2, or 3, with phase 3 currently in process. Schools that are food forests are part of Citi Gardens Food Forests Grown With The Education Fund due to Citi's largess. Some of the raised bed garden schools are also sponsored by donors including Perry Ellis, Craig Zinn Automotive Group, TriMix Foundation. All 51 schools are supported by our lead program donors: Citi, Health Foundation of South Florida, Humana Foundation, Peacock Foundation and the School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program. We are ever so grateful to those that make this work possible for our children.
