COVID-19 Relief Efforts

Dear Friends,

Schools are back open and students are excited to finally see their friends.

Hundreds of their teachers already visited our supply center to get learning tools students need, and they applied for our classroom grants to create meaningful lessons.

Children are thrilled to learn hands-on science lessons once again in The Education Fund’s outdoor “eco labs” while getting healthy produce to take home.

High school students are already envisioning college trips and our SmartPath college clubs. However, the academic gap created last year is real.

The Education Fund is working diligently with the frontlines in our public schools to make up for lost time in order to ensure our children gain the necessary skills for a successful future.

The Education Fund Never Rests!

Last year was one of the most challenging we’ve experienced in more than 30 years. Thanks to your support, The Education Fund pushed forward, meeting the extraordinary needs of our students and families.

Below is just a small sample of what we accomplished -- together!

Through the work of The Education Fund!

$3.7+ million in school supplies and household items distributed via our Ocean Bank Center – almost 4 times our normal distribution.

319,500 students/families in need received pens, paper, crayons, markers, T-shirts, paper towels, disinfecting wipes, toilet paper, children’s storybooks, face masks, and much more!

128,300+ students benefitted as The Education Fund trained thousands of teachers how to implement effective online teaching practices.

21,626 harvest bags provided nutritious supplements to families’ home meals for students from 26 elementary schools.

67% of students improved science proficiency through Food Forest STEM lessons.

57% of students improved their eating attitudes.

1,262 senior high school students benefitted from one-on-one counseling, gaining critical knowledge needed for careers/college.

797 students attended FAFSA events to apply for financial aid for college.

530 students participated in bi-weekly college and career club meetings.

30 students learned about work and careers through 5-week paid summer internships.

9,975 students in 133 classrooms experienced hands-on lessons funded via our Innovator, Adapter, Student Power, Podcast, and other classroom grants.

Many Partners and Donors helped The Education Fund. Just one example is an amazing partnership with Ford Motor Company and Argo AI.

With the power of autonomous vehicles, we delivered harvest bags, school supplies, and PPE to hundreds of students’ families at home.
