The Education Fund is making a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of children by working side-by-side with the private sector, enlisting their support to improve our public schools, and bringing excellence to public education.

This work reaches all 470 schools and all 22,000+ teachers and educators in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. 

 

The Education Fund makes a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of students:

  • $78 million raised for public schools

  • 257,274 harvest bags sent home with families served by Food Forests for Schools

  • 10,500+ computers provided to student homes, plus 500 in classrooms.

  • 1.2 million trilingual Parent Resource Guides distributed

  • $3 million in individual classroom grants to help teachers foster student achievement

  • 34% increase in college enrollment attained as part of a national demonstration project

  • $22.5 million in free supplies for classrooms

  • $1.1 million for public schools' visual arts programs

  • 228,000 hours of one-on-one tutoring for students struggling with reading

  • 4,216 hours of in-class mentoring for first-year teachers

  • $820,000 in grants for dropout-prevention programs

  • $3.4 million leveraged for one of the nation's most comprehensive leadership development programs for secondary school administrators

  • 5,300+ classroom projects funded by Teacher Grants

  • 39,700+ teacher visits to our free supplies warehouse

  • 211 tons of computer hardware diverted from Miami-Dade landfills
