The Education Fund Honored for its 40 year commitment to public education in Miami-Dade County
The Miami-Dade County School Board honored The Education Fund with a proclamation for our 40 year commitment to public education. This honor highlights our mission to maximize every child's potential through innovative programming—from the distribution of millions in free classroom supplies at the Ocean Bank Center for Educational Materials to our district-wide Food Forests for Schools initiative.
We remain incredibly grateful to School Board Chair Mari Tere Rojas, Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres, and the entire School Board for this recognition. This proclamation stands as a testament to our enduring partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and our shared dedication to creating a brighter, greener future for every student.

The Education Fund
Miami-Dade County School Board chair and District 6 representative Mari Tere Rojas proffered agenda item B-3 during the meeting of Nov. 19, recognizing the celebration of the 40th anniversary of The Education Fund for its outstanding commitment, dedication, and continuous support to Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS).
For four decades, The Education Fund has been an indispensable partner to Miami-Dade County Public Schools. This 40-year milestone represents a legacy of public-private collaboration dedicated to one simple goal — ensuring students and educators succeed.
Since its endorsement by the school board in 1985, The Education Fund has transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of students by investing over $90 million into our schools. Today, its work reaches more than 310,000 students and 20,000 educators across the district annually.
The innovative programming is essential to the district’s success. This includes the Ocean Bank Center for Educational Materials, which has distributed more than $29 million in free classroom supplies, and the first-in-the-nation Food Forests for Schools program, which has installed outdoor STEM labs in 81 elementary schools.
The Education Fund continues to champion educators through the new Miami Loves Teachers initiative and celebrates best practices through the annual Idea EXPO. From providing college and career readiness via its SmartPath program to supporting the arts, The Education Fund is an integral part of the community.
