Join us for The Education Fund Teach-A-Thon!

Teach a lesson, fundraise, help public school students succeed.

The Teach-A-Thon is a fundraiser, a public awareness campaign, a networking opportunity, a team-building exercise, and more...

The Teach-A-Thon connects business professionals, culinary professionals, and community leaders (Public School Champions) to the education field by having them step into the shoes of current educators for at least one in-person lesson.

By having business professionals teach actual content, we accomplish two goals:  Students see the subject matter as more important, especially as many professionals can explain real-world applications of the subject. In addition, the professionals see into the classroom and discover why we need to support our public schools. As part of the program, business professionals will tell colleagues of their experience to fundraise and gain support for our public schools.

Be a Public School Champion and join other professionals from Wells Fargo, Assurant, Ford Motor Company, South Florida Business Journal, Chen Senior Medical Center, Kaufman Rossin, TD Bank, TrustServeLP, World Kinect, and other businesses.

In celebration of 40 years, The Education Fund invites business professionals to step to the plate for the 2024-25 Teach-A-Thon so we can reach 4000 students and ensure they have the resources they need!

It's a campaign.
The Teach-A-Thon is an exciting fundraising campaign, with the goal of making a difference in our children’s futures while educating the business community and others about the joys and challenges of teaching.

It's an easy way to support public school education.
The Education Fund will pair you with a current teacher for planning and support. Easy-to-follow lesson plans and teacher support will ensure your teaching experience is as impactful and seamless as possible.   As part of the training process, participants learn about why students need more support in STEAM fields.

It's a networking opportunity.
Training is simple, fun, and a great way to network with other professionals. Public School Champions either work on their own or are teamed up with a colleague.

It's fun.
The campaign includes a three-month window during which Public School Champions spend one to two hours teaching in their assigned classroom. A victory party follows where our participants and their teacher partners celebrate and share stories of success about the experience.

How it Works

  • Teach a lesson:
Spearheaded by The Education Fund, the Teach-A-Thon program invites business and culinary professionals to bring their expertise into Miami-Dade County public school classrooms. Teach a 45-minute lesson to a class of your chosen subject and grade level (elementary, middle, or high school).

  • Fundraise for public schools:
Share your unique experience with your network, helping to create more awareness about the cause. Fundraise through a user-friendly online platform to support teacher grants and classroom funding to help students succeed!

  • You'll be set up for success:
Easy-to-follow lesson plans and teacher support will ensure your teaching experience is as impactful and seamless as possible.
